About You.

You are a Senior PHP developer experienced in designing, developing and maintaining large-scale web applications. We're looking for a team player who loves solving problems in an agile and creative way.

Our system is built from scratch to meet the business requirements without compromise, so you should have demonstrable experience in modern PHP frameworks (Phalcon, Symfony or Laravel) and their related backend services. We make use of the newest open source technologies where possible to develop best-in-class products - so be very comfortable working with and on open source software. Above all, you should share our desire to create great software!

Role requirements.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Several years experience designing, developing and maintaining complex web applications, preferably involving e-Commerce.
  • Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals, object-oriented programming, design patterns and software engineering best practices.
  • Strong MVC skills using a modern PHP framework (or be able to very quickly pick that up to a professional standard)
  • Extensive knowledge with key value storage systems like Redis and APC
  • Good knowledge of NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Elasticsearch.
  • Professional experience with RDMS systems like PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  • Hands-on experience with parallel processing and queueing systems like Gearman, RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka etc.);
  • Good communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to self-manage.

Nice to haves.

Some things we think would be good if you were also into:

  • Proficiency in debugging techniques and hands-on experience in writing unit tests using PHPUnit and/or Mockery. You’re keen to do TDD and BDD (e.g. PHPUnit, Codeception, Behat)
  • Prior experience in developing RESTful APIs and documentation tools such as Swagger/OpenApi standard.
  • You’re familiar with CI/CD. Jenkins or Bitbucket pipelines etc.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Sentry/NewRelic and ELK Stack.
  • You’re able to work with Docker Containers.

About The Role.

You will be part of an efficient and united IT team. You will be developing and maintaining the application's frontend, backend and order processing engine (our so-called "State Machine"), mainly using PHP8.

The main focus will be the development of our e-commerce framework, which includes a highly extensible and scalable system, spread over several cloud based servers.

You will develop reliable and maintainable code always looking for architectural improvements.

Stay in tune with the latest technologies, proactively identify areas for improvement and propose viable solutions. Your opinion is always valued, and you will have a direct impact for the business.

We implement designs under the clean code principle and make use of all the tools out there helping, measuring and tracking to improve the code quality.

Exciting projects arise based on our increasing traffic and volume of orders.

Systems Engineer/Dev Ops/Administrator

About The Role.

Joining our IT Team, you are responsible for our Linux based application infrastructure, focusing on high availability, performance, and scalability.

  • Managing our Cloud server infrastructure
  • Configuration and management of the Software Stack
  • Maintenance and enhancement and virtualisation of our Production, Staging and Testing, and Development environments.

About You.

You have demonstrable experience in the following:

  • Configuration and administration of Cloud Infrastructure (Digital Ocean, AWS, Linux, NginX)
  • HAProxy
  • Puppet or Salt
  • Scripting (Bash/Shell, Python, Ruby, PHP)
  • Management of SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgresSQL, MySQL, MongoDb, Redis, Elasticsearch etc.)
  • Monitoring systems (New Relic, Icinga2, Grafana, Logstash, etc.)
  • Continuous Integration (Jenkins)
  • Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, Terraform
  • Tools like Git, ufw, fail2ban
  • Big Plus: Worked in a Start-up before!

You are a senior frontend developer experienced in designing, developing and maintaining large-scale web applications. We're looking for a team player who loves solving problems in an agile and creative way.

Our system is built from scratch to meet the business requirements without compromise, so you should have demonstrable experience in modern JS and CSS frameworks (React, Angular, Bootstrap, Foundation) and their related backend services. We make use of the newest open source technologies where possible to develop best-in-class products - so be very comfortable working with and on open source software. Above all, you should share our desire to create great software!

Role requirements.

We are looking for someone:

  • with several years experience designing, developing and maintaining complex web applications, preferably involving e-Commerce
  • who can create, and test your Cross-browser solutions
  • focusing on clean, Responsive and mobile-first implementations
  • with extensive knowledge of ReactJS framework and REST APIs
  • who is familiar with common front-end development tools like: Webpack, NPM, YARN, SASS, LESS
  • with excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to self-manage

From a senior frontend developer we would like to see some of the following as well:

Demonstrable experience in:

  • OOP in the ECMAScript 6 stack using a modern frontend framework such as React or Flux
  • Unit Testing (Mocha, Jasmine)
  • Integration Testing (Cypress)
  • designing and implementing RESTFul APIs

Nice to haves:

  • good PHP OOP knowledge
  • working with cloud systems like AWS, Digital Ocean
  • experience with CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins, Bitbucket pipelines)
  • You’re able to work with Docker Containers.
  • Big Plus: Worked in a Start-up before!

You’ll take ownership of all things front-end in our products and projects, working as part of our engineering team.

The main focus will be the development of our e-commerce framework, which includes a highly extensible and scalable system, spread over several cloud based servers.

Online marketing traineeship

Tyroola is offering a 3-6 months paid Online Marketing Traineeship with focus on Content and Onsite Optimization. We are a fast-growing online tyre retailer, offering the largest range of car tyres on the Australian market.

Be part of a great and experienced team of professionals, come join us out of our office in Ultimo, Sydney or in Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast! We have a couple of positions and will interview and mutually decide on what projects and work suits best.

About the Role

  • Learn management of marketing campaigns to address problem areas (e.g. propose dynamic content, feature testing, user incentives, etc.)
  • Create, develop and manage compelling and creative content for ecommerce site (both internal and external to business partnerships)
  • Learn how to define and implement search optimization strategies, reporting and tools
  • Work and learn closely with experience online marketeers and IT developers
  • Support the founders in strategically important key projects, focus on online marketing

Our long-term goal is to become an established brand and to be identified as the ‘go-to’ place for tyres and car equipment.

Since our launch 5 months ago, we have experienced rapid growth. We are continuously looking for outstanding talents for our young and dynamic team. Currently we are looking for a skilled intern for our business intelligence / pricing department (f/m).

Your responsibilities:

  • Assist the pricing department with the pricing strategy of Tyroola
  • While you will be working on permanent projects, there will be a number of ad-hoc tasks and analyses that you will be responsible for
  • Retrieve, analyse and present critical data and help management to translate it into business strategy

Your talent:

  • You are studying Business (e.g., business administration, economics, quantitative economics)
  • You have advanced MS Excel skills
  • You have a strong analytical mindset and experience in data analysis and reporting
  • You have the ability of translating analyses into action points
  • You are comfortable working in an English speaking environment
