Pirelli is one of the leading manufacturers of high-end and performance tires and is striving to become the world leader in this segment by 2015. The company has always had a keen focus on research and development, investing around 3 percent of revenues each year in this area: one of the highest levels of research investment in the tire industry. The goal is to constantly improve the quality of Pirelli products in terms of performance, safety and environmental impact, all in line with the company s green performance strategy. In pursuing these objectives, Pirelli always aims to unite financial profitability with social responsibility.
Having been involved in motor racing since 1907, Pirelli is currently the single tire manufacturer for Formula 1 for the 2011-2013 championship seasons and for the World Superbike Championship. This is an important challenge in terms of technological innovation and is a key means of promoting the Pirelli brand. The manufacturer is one of the leading tire manufacturers in the world.
The ideal choice for optimum balance between performance and comfort for medium to high-powered cars.
An Ultra High Performance tire, combining performance and comfort. Possible combination of P ZERO ROSSO Direzionale (front axle fitment) with P ZERO ROSSO Asimmetrico (rear axle fitment or all-round application).
Developed for modern sports cars with electronic drive and stability control systems, the P ZERO ROSSO (or Red colour, which is synonymous with Italian motor racing) is ideal for sports performance providing precise steering response on dry and wet roads.
Directional and asymmetric: two different tread patterns designed to provide the best sports performance. The directional tread pattern, for the front axle, with its arrow grooves and longitudinal channels ensure excellent grip on both wet and dry roads. The asymmetric tire has three distinct elements: large blocks on the outer shoulder, a central semi-slick rib with curved transverse grooves and a more open inner shoulder.
In addition to the sports performance, P ZERO ROSSO promotes the concept of comfort through the special construction of the carcass, which combines performance with the comfort features typical of high-performance flagship cars. P ZERO ROSSO has achieved more than 200 original equipment homologations from leading manufacturers on top performance vehicles.
"MO" mark on the side wall. The tire is optimized for Mercedes cars.
Test Asymmetrical tyres are those which have a tread pattern that is different from one side to another - ie non symmetrical. Tread patterns vary, some giving particularly good dry grip, some have characteristics designed to enhance wet performance. An asymmetrical tyre offers the best of both worlds by combining the two patterns across the width of the tread.
